  • The Australian Government provides eligible older Australians with a Home Care Package (HCP) subsidy to help cover the cost of services that support you to live safely and independently at home. The subsidy amount is based on the level of care you are assessed to need—Level 1 being basic care and Level 4 for high-level needs. This funding is paid directly to your approved home care provider, such as Circle Home Care, and is used to deliver services outlined in your individual Care Plan.

You do not receive the funds yourself; instead, your provider is responsible for managing and administering the funds in accordance with government regulations.

  • Absolutely! Our approach is person-centred, allowing you to select services that suit your needs, lifestyle, and goals.

  • Under the Home Care Package program, Package Management fees cover the administrative and financial activities required to ensure your HCP runs smoothly. This includes tasks such as:

    • Budgeting and tracking expenditure

    • Preparing monthly financial statements

    • Managing supplier payments and reimbursements

    • Ensuring compliance with all government reporting and auditing requirements

These activities ensure that your funds are used appropriately, transparently, and in line with your approved Care Plan.

  • Care Management is a mandatory component of every Home Care Package. These fees cover the professional services required to plan, coordinate, and monitor the care you receive. This includes:

    • Developing and regularly reviewing your personalised Care Plan

    • Assessing your health, wellbeing, and safety needs

    • Coordinating services such as personal care, nursing, and allied health

    • Liaising with your GP, family members, and other health professionals as needed

    • Responding to changes in your health or care needs

Our goal is to ensure your care remains responsive, consistent, and aligned with your evolving goals and preferences.

  • Under the HCP program, the government pays your subsidy directly to Circle Home Care on your behalf. From this subsidy, your Package Management and Care Management fees are deducted, and the remaining funds are used to pay for your care services and supports.

In some cases, you may be required to contribute to the cost of your care. This may include:

    • A basic daily fee (which Circle Home Care currently does not charge)

    • An Income Tested Care Fee (ITF), which is determined by Services Australia based on your income

If you are assessed as needing to pay an ITF, you will be billed directly for this portion. All other service costs are drawn from your government subsidy. There is no need for you to pay Circle Home Care directly unless you are topping up your services privately or are self-funding beyond the subsidy.
